For Clinicians · Issue No. 04

Bloran is the compounding layer your practice can prescribe into.

A clinician-first doorway into our 503B compounding facility. Co-prescribe adaptive regimens, receive structured diagnostic results back into your stack, and keep clinical authority exactly where it belongs — with you.

01 — The Workflow

Five stages from kit issuance to adaptive refill.

The handoff points between your practice and our Boulder compounding lab — written so a clinic operations lead could staff it on a Monday morning.

  1. 01

    Patient enrollment & kit dispatch

You flag a candidate from your panel — adult acne, reactive barrier, post-procedure recovery — and we ship a CLIA-validated microfluidic sampling kit to their door inside 48 hours, branded under your practice or ours.

  2. 02

    At-home diagnostic & diary

The patient completes a 90-second barrier-and-microbiome sample and a 14-day skin diary logged inside the Bloran patient app. Telemetry streams to both the patient chart and a clinician-readable dashboard.

  3. 03

    Clinician review & co-sign

A licensed Bloran clinician (one of 22 on the advisory board, including 9 board-certified dermatologists) reviews every flagged regimen before compounding. You retain full override — pause, adjust actives, or decline.

  4. 04

    72-hour compounded shipment

On co-sign, our 18,000 sq ft Boulder lab compounds the 8-week regimen from raw APIs in biodegradable refill pods. Cold-chain delivery arrives inside 72 hours; you receive a batch-traceable lot record per shipment.

  5. 05

    Adaptive refill & response loop

Patient diary data triggers auto-adjustment of the next refill — actives softened, ceramide ratios rebalanced, or barrier strategy swapped. Our algorithm proposes; you and the reviewing clinician dispose.

02 — Governance Statement

Where Bloran fits in the clinical decision.

Bloran does not replace a dermatologist. We are the compounding and diagnostic layer that sits behind your prescription — the same way a 503B outsourcing facility sits behind a hospital pharmacy.

Every formulation is compounded in our FDA-registered, 18,000 sq ft Boulder facility from lot-traceable raw APIs to doorstep. Every flagged regimen is co-signed by a licensed clinician, not auto-shipped by software. Every batch carries a certificate of analysis you can pull at any time from the clinician portal.

What we will never do: make a diagnosis without clinician sign-off, ship an active-strength change without your review, or market a treatment as a cure for any diagnosed medical condition. The pen stays with you.

03 — Integration

Drops into your existing clinical stack.

No rebuild required. The Bloran clinician portal exposes a structured read API (HL7 FHIR-aligned) and ships embeddable modules for the telehealth platforms your practice already runs on.

i.

Patient record return

Diagnostic results, formulation lot records, refill history, and diary telemetry return as FHIR-aligned resources to your EMR via secure SFTP or REST webhook. No double-entry charting.

  • FHIR R4 · Observation & CarePlan resources
  • HL7 v2 ORU message support on request
  • SOC 2 Type II handling for PHI
ii.

Telehealth platform embed

A white-labelable iframe and an iFrame-less React widget let your existing derm-platform surface the kit, the consent flow, and the result dashboard inside a patient visit — without a tab switch.

  • React widget · 38KB gzipped
  • SSO via SAML 2.0 or OIDC
  • White-label kits available with 200-unit MOQ
iii.

Response telemetry feed

Daily diary entries, irritation flags, adherence metrics, and qualitative self-reports stream to a clinician-readable dashboard — sortable by patient, by cohort, by regimen revision. Useful for in-practice review.

  • Webhook on every flagged event
  • Cohort export to CSV / Parquet
  • De-identified dataset for IRB research
iv.

Bulk enrollment tooling

For practices onboarding 50+ patients a quarter: CSV roster import, automated kit dispatch templating, and a per-clinician referral link with UTM-tagged lot recall. Your office manager, not your billing team, runs it.

  • CSV / HL7 roster import
  • Per-clinician referral codes
  • Bulk pause / resume controls

Estheticians & skin therapists

  • White-label home-care kits
  • In-studio adherence follow-through
  • Treatment-room protocol PDFs

Board-certified dermatologists

Sitting on our 22-person clinical advisory board — out of 22 licensed clinicians and 14 PhD scientists on the full team. Every flagged regimen is reviewed by a human before it ships, not just an algorithm.

11

Peer-reviewed studies

Published across JCAD, JDD, and the British Journal of Dermatology since 2022. Most recent: ceramide-restore efficacy for sensitive-skin phenotypes, JCAD March 2024. Full bibliography available on request.

92.4%

Concordance vs. in-clinic derm

Across 14,200+ diagnostic kits shipped since 2021, our at-home microfluidic sampling matched the treating dermatologist's clinical assessment within one phenotype bucket — independently audited.
